Reviews, Progress, Our New Home

Hey you guys! It's been a minute hasn't it? Well. I am so sorry for the delay! On the 6th, we moved into our new place! How exciting right? I'm pretty excited. However, we don't have like... any furniture.. and we didn't have internet til today! So currently, I am on the floor typing this to you! It's a small sacrifice, and i'm not even mad. I would rather be in a house of my own and start being settled than be stuck in TLF still in a place that isn't mine.

Here are a few pics of the house, and etc:

Can I just tell you guys how much I love my crockpot? Best 20$ investment ever!! I have been cooking in it like every night! It's so easy.

My first crock pot experiance:

I got this off of course, Pinterest. Source <- I had been eye balling this recipe for awhile so as you could imagine I was very excited to try it. It only calls for 3 ingrediants too! So it's cheap!
You need chicken, Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce, and a Ranch Seasonings Packet!
And of course if you need buns etc...

I let this cook on low for 3 hours.. took it out like it said, shredded it, put it back in the crockpot, shredded some more, stirred the sauce all in it.. Yum Yum Yum. My house smelled like delicious buffalo. One of my favorite scents. I got my hamburger buns, layed cheese on the bottom, along with some sliced tomato, put the buffalo chicken on top and poured ranch on top. So easy. This will definitely be an often dish in my home.

In other news, I'm not sure if I have talked about this here, but I have been on the road to fitness for the past 2 months! I am incredibly pleased with my results so far, and I can't wait to get better and better!

The two top right photos are from 12-15-12. I am pretty proud of myself, and have gotten such lovely feedback from everyone on Facebook and Instagram. It's been wonderful.

I bought a Polar FT 40 heart rate monitor watch and strap recently. Here is a photo of it.
(I took this today lol)

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. So much. It is simple, I can keep an eye on my heart rate.. after its over and i'm able to see that beautiful number of how many calories I have burned, my cal. Fat percentage, and how long my gym session was. It also lets me see my AVG and MAX heart rate during my session and shows how long I Fat Burned or did Fitness. What a cool thing right?? I can also go back and check my weekly sessions and it gives me the totals for that week. This particular one was 100$ on Amazon. They have Polar FT7's at Bestbuy selling at 67$ to my current knowledge.
It is a great investment especially if you are getting fit! I will never ever workout without it ever again!

~I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Baked Ham and Egg Benedict w/ No Bread

Heyo! Kayley here, and I am here to share my delicious low carb breakfast that I had this morning! Now, I will be honest and say that I stole the main recipe from Pinterest. But hey, it helps get my creative juices flowin' !

The original recipe said to use turkey. I would have used turkey like it said but unfortunately I didn't have turkey like I thought! So I improvised and used ham instead. :)

So, alls you gotta do is the following:

1. Get a muffin pan.
2. Layer the muffin pan with ham or turkey.
3. Crack an egg into each one.
4. Season the egg with Salt, Pepper, and Paprika.
5. Set the oven at 375 degrees, and let cook for 20 minutes.

Now, if you want to spice up the original recipe like I did... the all you have to do is go to the grocery store section where they have gravy and pick up the "Hollondaise" packet. You will be familiar with this if you happen to love Eggs Benedict like me.

So while the eggs were cooking in the oven, I started my hollondaise sauce. All you have to have in stock for this is a half stick of butter. The other two ingredients is only water and of course the ingredient in the packet. So I cooked that, let it thicken while I waited for my eggs to be done.

This is not a recipe that you have to continuously stand by, you can walk off for a few minutes while the hollondaise sauce is heating up and thickening. All you have to do really is just make sure to stir it.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes

What I thought: I absolutely loved this for breakfast! Especially with the hollondaise sauce. I feel like it gives me that extra... umph.. if you will. :)

After I posted this on my fitness instagram and my personal, I had several people asking me how to make it, or that they made it! They didn't use the hollondaise sauce because they used what they had at the house. They still absolutely loved it!

So there you go folks.
210 calorie breakfast for 2 of them! Can't beat that!

First time at Disneyland!

On Sunday, January 27th, I went to Disneyland for my very first time. What a wonderful, magical experience to share with my husband! We were originally going to go Friday instead of Sunday, but the weather had other plans! Luckily, by the time we arrived to Anaheim it was cleared up and not raining at all about 10AM. Now my husband and I are from Florida, and we have both been to Disneyworld. However, I have only been there once.. And I was like 13. So I really only remember the most talked about rides like tower of terror, space mountain etc...

We went to Disneyland first instead of California Disney Adventure. We were at Disneyland pretty much all day, only went to Disney Adventure for dinner and Tower of Terror.

While we were in Disneyland still, we had lunch at a wonderful place in the New Orleans area called "Cafe Orleans". I had the Gumbo as well as my husband and also had beignets that were shaped like mickey mouse! The gumbo was absolutely delicious, and so were the beignets.

Overall we were there until about 730PM, didn't get home til closer to 10. The drive home was absolutely dreadful since I was so tired! But it was all worth it. I can't wait to go back :)

Here are a lot more photos from Disneyland! We were lucky enough to see an amazing parade!

Video above is me and my husband on the teacups! Hope you enjoy that, and the pictures I have posted. Thanks for looking. :)

Smashbox Primer Review

So as I told you guys in a previous post, I was going to do some reviewing on the things I got about a week ago. A couple things i'm going to have to wait a little longer to make sure I give you guys an accurate review.

Let's get started!

I have extremely dry skin. Sometimes when I put my foundation in, it doesn't look as flawless as I would have hoped for, for that particular brand. I changed the type of makeup wipes I was using to the "hydrating" ones, and started applying Smashbox's Photo Finish Hydrating Primer before I add my concealer and foundation. Smashbox has all times of primers for you to use depending on what your skin is like. They are: Dark Spot Correcting Primer, Color Correcting Primer, Color Correcting Foundation Primer, and a lot of other ones also if you want a glow, or something like that. I bought this at Ulta for $42. It is in a 1 fl. oz tube. They have the smaller ones at check out that are $17 if you would prefer to pay that amount first before diving into a bigger tube. Everyday that I apply my makeup, I give my face another wipe from my makeup remover just to make sure I got all of the 'yesterdays' makeup off. After I dot the primer on to both sides of my cheeks, my forehead, and my chin. I realllly rub it in too. I wait about a minute before I add my concealer and foundation just so it has time to set.

Once I add my foundation and blend it to my satisfaction, my skin appears to be healthy, flawless, and well... pretty! It took about 2 or 3 days before I saw a difference. This will definetly be a must have for me for now on. (Sorry hubs!)

I would recommend this brand to anyone for whatever skin type you have. The smell isn't bad, it smells refreshing to me. It rubs into my skin just fine, and I am very happy with the results I have been getting.

The ingredients include: Water/Aqua/Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Hexlene Glycol, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone, Crosspolymer, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Glycerin, Stearyl Dimethicone, PEG-8 dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-8, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, [+/- Blue 1 (Cl 42090), Red 4 (Cl 14700), Yellow 5 (Cl 19190)}

Overall experience: Positive. I recommend this product.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review of mine, and I look forward to doing more!
Until then,
xx

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Review

Well hello there, folks! Unfortunately due to the weather this weekend, Disney has been postponed! But to make up for it, the husband took me to lunch, and a movie and then dinner after! Talk about an awesome date-day. Haha!

I have been looking forward to seeing Hansel and Gretel for a few months now, so I was more than thrilled to go see it today.

I was familiar with the actor, Jeremy Renner due to seeing his past movie, "The Town" and then of course him appearing in "Thor" and being a main character on "The Avengers".
Seems like he is popping up more these days in movies, and i'm telling you the truth when I say, I'm not even bothered by it. ;]

Was very happy to see Famke Janssen! I absolutely love her! She's in a lot of my favorite movies like... "X-men" and "I-Spy". She is a very beautiful woman and talented actress.

Actress I was not familiar with: Gemma Arterton.
Can I tell you that she is absolutely beautiful, and a really great actress? I hope to see her in more movies. I was very impressed with her acting skills. She also reminds me of Jennifer Garner. Her facial expressions she makes is almost identical in some scenes!

Okay, Okay, to the actual critic part.

Pros: Acting was solid. Story line, plot, the whole sh-bang. Was very well held together and I enjoyed that. For the most part the effects were very great.

Cons; The only effects that I think could have been better were the Troll, "Edwards". He looked like rubber to me. And also, I couldn't really understand what he was saying half the time, I had to ask my husband.

Overall: I would defiantly say YES to go see this movie! It really was a great movie, and I plan on buying it on blu-ray when it comes out!

*I saw this movie in 3D.
A lot of people whine that you know 3D is for things that ALWAYS pop out at you etc.
The movie industry isn't trying to always have things flying out at you FYI. It is to capture as much detail as possible. Almost like realism I would personally say.
I do not regret my decision in watching it in 3D. I think it makes the whole movie experience that much better. And I really do appreciate those extra details that I would not get seeing it regularly.

4/5 stars!

xx

Incase you were wondering how my cat is doing ;)

He's doing just great and adjusting so well!

One Year Anniversary

Wow, how time has just flown by. I can't believe it's been a year of being married already! I love being only 21 and having my very first anniversary with you! Just wait, in 10 years, i'll be only 31, and we will be married that long! I feel very blessed to of found my soul-mate at such a young age. A lot of people say "Why rush into marriage, why get married so young" etc etc. Well my personal answer is...
I don't want to miss all these precious moments. I would rather get married young, learn more about the love of my life at a young age, appreciate him more everyday, have amazing memories... I feel like i'm living a fairytale sometimes. I travel the world, my husband fights for our country, and i'm married to him.

They say that the first year of marriage is always the hardest. I believe it. Lots of adjusting, and really getting to know your partner out of just hanging out for a few days. But honestly, if we just got through the hardest "part" (I know, there will always be something along the way to workout with but you catch my drift) then for the most part it should be smooth sailing from now on!

I know today you had to go to work, and you would do anything to be here right now hanging out with me, but i'm so glad we got to spend lunch together, and this morning.
I'm happy you also have a three day weekend!!

I love all our memories together. I past, our present, and I can't wait to know what our future ones will look like. Cause if they're anything like they have been, I know they will be absolutely amazing.
I love waking up to you every single morning. It's almost like a dream to me... May will be our one year of living together, and this is the most time we have ever spent together at one time.
It took me so long to get used to the fact that I, or you weren't leaving anytime soon. That we can finally start our lives together as a married couple and go on this beautiful journey.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

                                                          Happy anniversary, Babe. <3

Update; 01.19.13

Hello ladies and gents! I've been so busy it seems like, and with my husband and I only having one computer until we get our stuff to our new house I won't have my laptop for a couple more weeks. However, I do have my iPad, I just can't set photos where I want them to. But that's alright, I bought some things today and can't wait to review them! I got one of Smashbox's primers. I have extremely dry skin so I got the hydrating one. I also found out that the current makeup remover wipes I have been using could be helping in the factor of my dry skin! So I got another one by the same brand but made sure it said "hydrating". I'm excited to try these two and hoping my skin will become less dry and more soft and will make my makeup look flawless!

I also bought Nivea's Firming Cellulite Serum. It firms skin and helps visibly reduce the appearance of cellulite. Now I have done my research on this, watched a lot of YouTube videos about it, and looked up reviews on the website etc. I'd have to say about 90% were all positive. I think it will HELP me a lot. I am also on the road to weight loss and becoming more healthy, so with this serum plus my exercising, I think I will see good results. The bottle says as little as 10 days but we shall see. I will probably do this review separate from my hydrating primer since I want to use this Serum for probably 2-3 weeks before I review it.

Too faced "perfect black" eyeliner I got today! It's a waterproof. I use a liquid liner for the top of my lid. But I like to connect from the bottom and outer corners of my eyes for a more dramatic look if I'm dressing up or something. As far as I can tell, the waterproof seems legit. I swatched some on my hand at Ulta, and I have washed my hands 3 times since and gave my cat a bath, and it's still there. Haha.

I look forward to reviewing these items! Will also be doing a "January favorites" at the end of the months so stay tunes!

In other news,
My kitty, Berlioz has been adjusting just fine! He is very comfortable with my husband and I. I love his personality! He is very calm, loves to cuddle, he's not aggressive but is up for playing when you are! We did however have to get his nails trimmed. Can't tell you how many cat scratches I have! It's been great having him not claw me for no reason lol. And like I said he isn't aggressive he just likes to flex his claws out ALL THE TIME. So not only did I want to stop hurting but we are still in our lodging house on base! So the furniture isn't ours. Lol.

Can I just say how excited I am to finally get a house?! Ugh, we have been here since December 4th! I'm ready to settle in ! We will find out the exact date we can move in on the 31st. Worst case scenario it won't be til Feb 8th.

5 days til my one year wedding anniversary! I am beyond excited! I cannot wait for this day. It is going to be magical!

Well until next time guys!

Recipe & Review

Good evening all! It's been a pretty hectic couple of days. Like I said previously we are having to move into another TLF house/hotel. Not only cause they can't extend us any longer at this specific one, but we also want a pet friendly one so we can bring baby Berlioz home to us. I am lacking such motivation right now, I do a little bit of packing and then find myself sitting down on my phone or looking up something completely unrelated to what I should be doing.

Last night I did make a pretty amazing dinner that wasn't too bad in calories either.. "Creamy chicken chipotle with roasted corn and beans with green and red peppers." Wow what a long title... Let's just use the first three words, okay..

I bought this really inexpensive packet at the grocery store. It's a "Cam bell's Skillet" pack. Obviously we got the chipotle one. It comes with the corn and the beans in it already.
So this is what you need. The packet for starters. It's only 70 calories per 1/4th cup of sauce you use in your meal.
You need: 1 pound of chicken; 1 small green and red pepper and 3 cloves of fresh garlic (these are all optional, I used them to add extra flavor and to get some more vegetables in there. I like to put green and red pepper and fresh garlic in just about everything.

You will also need rice of your choice. I just used the Uncle Ben's rice that you boil in a pot. It's simple, good, and fast.

All you have to do is brown the chicken with some oil, maybe put some peppa' on the chicken just cause pepper is awesome. Cut your green and red peppers in half, and then on the halves, cut down the midde again, and just do thin strips. And then minc your garlic.
I did not add these until the chicken was almost thoroughly cooked through. Then added those ingredients to get softer and maybe even give the chicken some more flavor too. After about 5 minutes I added the Camp-bell's Skillet sauce and lowered the heat and covered and just simmered it until the rice was ready. After I felt like it was good enough to eat, it looked a little like this,

I seriously scarfed this down. It was so good. My husband was even impressed. Hello more wifey brownie points for me! It took maybe a total of 30 minutes including prep. It was a very quick, impacted with flavor meal. It was a little spicy, but I like spicy food so it wasn't a problem. My husband doesn't care for too-spicy foods.. But he could still enjoy it. So that's something to consider.

Last night I was also able to use one of my lush bath bombs that I bought on new years eve. I was so excited! Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the bath bomb. I looked online and couldn't find it there either.

It smelled so wonderful, I was bummed that it left the water so foggy and almost like the water was dirty... What a shame right?! As you can see, you can see the little seeds and twig lookin' things. It left my skin feeling incredibly soft and smelling great! But I didn't like the seed/twig looking things or the water. It was kind of a hassle cleaning all those things out. If you're like me... and a little lazy... You know, you take a bath to relax.. It's no fun to have to clean up after a relaxing bath. Kind of defeats the purpose for me. Luckily I have lots more lush products to use for future baths! So i'll do more reviews on them hoping you like these kind of reviews and things.

Today I went out into town and stopped by Petsmart and got some things for Berlioz. Didn't get some things cause they're a little too big and we can only fit so much in our car for tomorrow which we are already struggling on how we are going to fit as is lol.

Well folks. Pretty little liars winter premiere comes back on in 30 minutes. I should probably clean a little more before it comes on because i'm going to be glued to the couch when it comes on.

xx
